The Holy Grail- Week 8 TEs

A picture of Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis...

Big things the rest of the season!

Teams on bye week: Falcons, Bears, Packers, Raiders, Jets, Buccaneers

MUST START

1 Graham @STL – Great matchup , great player , great stats  , move on.

2 Gates @KC – Word is the foot responded well which is great to hear since he came back and scored. Great matchup this week puts him at 2 on my list.

3 Witten @Phi – The Eagles had 2 weeks to prep for this game. Romo is going back to the rib support jacket and that means more conservative play calling from the Cowboys. Murray will get his share and Witten will be the security blanket that Romo has come to know and love.

4 Aaron Hernandez @Pit – He is a freak at the position , a hybrid WR/TE and that makes him an exciting start each week. He does get nicked up a bit here and there , but right now he is healthy and playing and if it’s PPR he is a surefire must start.

5 Fred Davis @ Buf – The Bills have a hard time covering anybody. With Moss , Cooley and Hightower all seriously injured , Davis may end up with 15 targets this game.

6 Vernon Davis vs Cle – He looks to get back on track this week after a needed break. He tends to follow up down weeks with good weeks. The Browns are not this good vs the pass , so something has to give. Start him with confidence this week.

7 Daniels vs Jax – AJ will be a GTD and my gut feeling is that he is not going to suit up. Daniels has been consistently average this season and is due for  TD. Dickson was open all over the field last week , but Flacco missed him a ton. Schaub is better than Flacco so start Daniels and feel good about it.

8 Gronk @Pit – You can argue that he is too low , and that may be the case , but in reality after the first few must starts everyone is about the same value. Davis and Daniels get the nod for me because they have better matchups and less competition for some QB love in PPR settings.

The Holy Grail – Week 6 RB’s

Fred Jackson of the Buffalo Bills

SOMEONE TACKLE THIS GUY!

BYE WEEKS: DEN , TEN , KC, AZ, SD, SEA

MUST START

1 Mcfadden vs Cle – Most are putting AP in this spot , but I feel like Mcfadden is a breakout week waiting to happen. He has been held without a TD for two weeks and is going against a defense that is 25th in the NFL in total rushing yards allowed. BTW the 4 Rbs Cleveland has faced: Benson , Addai , D. Thomas and Cj2k  and Mcfadden is better than all of them.

2 AP @Chi – We saw what Best did to them last week and they are slow to the ball as they lack overall team speed. Watching AP run is just ridiculous , even he doesn’t know where he is going sometimes. Expect another monster day.

3 Rice vs Hou – Houston loses Mario Williams which really hurts a defense that is playing above its paygrade right now. Rice is going to be impossible to stop at home off a bye week against a defense that will have no answer for him. PS Houston gives up 4.8 YPC and that was  before the Williams injury.

4 Mccoy @Wash – He is impossible to guard in that offense , but Washington is a very good tackling team. His dual threat ability ultimately wins out every week and I think Vick will be energized in this game. We all know what happens to NFL talent once their back is against the wall.

5 Foster @ Bal – He can run against anyone even a team giving up next to nothing on the ground. Regardless of where I put him he is still a must start for the simple fact he is going to get 30 touches weeklyand has multiple TD potential.

6 Forte vs Min – Earth to Matt Forte, you can not keep up these rushing numbers.. can you? The guy looks great , and is a lock for touches  , catches and yards. If they ever get  the O Line to block anyone he could be even better.

7 Gore @Det – Detroit giving up almost 5 yards per carry , Gore looks back in form , Alex Smith actually looks ok , and Vernon Davis is beasting right now. In Harbaugh I trusted before the season , keep it going Niners!

8 Fred Jackson @ NYG – He is playing above his skillset , and it is pissing me the hell off. Someone tackle this guy , he is not all that fast , not terribly shifty doesn’t posessess bulldozer power , but yet he just gets yard after yard and falls forward. This offense is perfect for him and he killed me last week on fanduel as the lemmings are flocking to this flavor of the month.

Ranks and Thoughts – Week 4 TE’s

A picture of Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis...

Image via Wikipedia

MUST STARTS

1 Finley vs Denver – Sorry Gronk! But Finley right now is the TE to own in 2011.

2 Gronkowski vs Oak – He will be featured heavily again , but he will also not be able to keep up his barrage of TDs all season , or can he?

Graham vs Jax – Away against a surprisingly good pass defense, Colston may be back, but Graham is coming into his own , very solid , safe TE to own right now.

Witten vs Det – The Romo injury is sapping some of the life out of that offense. He will need to be on track this week or the Lions might run away with this one

Vernon Davis vs Philly – The LBs are bad there , flat out terrible , Their secondary won’t be able to cover him and 6-8 catches a week since his sit down with Harbaugh seems legit.

The Holy Grail- Week 3 TE’s

A picture of Washington Redskins TE Fred Davis...

LEADING YOU TO THE PROMISED LAND EACH WEEK!

MUST STARTS

1 Witten vs Wash – He is dominating in yards and catches and this is PPR. Austin is out , Dez is banged up , this guy just keeps on chugging.

2 Gates vs KC – Okay well I am not the only guy that ate crow last week when it came to Gates. I know he is banged up , but you trust your studs , and he is a stud.

**EDIT: Gates inactive this week , adjust your rosters accordingly and obviously BENCH him as this ranking was for an active player**

3 Vernon Davis vs Cin – Has been a disappointment thus far. Had a meeting with Harbaugh and as I said last week about my sleeper play in Hixon “the squeaky wheel gets the grease” Should produce nicely this week.

4 Finley vs Chi – Due for a couple TDs , Chicago will have a hard time covering him.

5 Gronkowski vs Buf – Should KILL them with Hernandez out.

6 Graham vs Hou – Looks good so far , getting a decent amount of work , and in a high scoring game should produce big numbers , a 30 point week is coming soon , don’t have him on your bench when it happens.

7 Daniels vs NO – The breakout is coming , I would love to see him and Graham go off this week

This is NO EXCUSE. I am a gamer , I am expected to deliver results when results are due and I will deliver this each week on time in the future.

HOWEVER : ALL MONEY LEAGUE PLAYERS PAY ATTENTION , iconfantasysports is going to do something to kick off the website that has NEVER been done before!

Details will be released next week to coincide with the sale of midseason leagues!

Week 3 Qbs- Ranks and Thoughts

Must Starts

1 Rivers vs KC – Due for a huge game. My pick to light it up #beastmode this week. Gates may be banged up, but so is the KC secondary without Berry. Oh and KC has allowed 8 passing tds in 2 weeks, worst in the NFL.

2 Brady vs Buf -Bills play him tough , so did the Dolphins. A Hern. is hurt , it won’t matter and I actually believe Ocho will now be given a fair chance.

MNF- Quick Thoughts Week 2

Capture of Eli Manning in a public service ann...

Looking Dumbfounded as Usual!

What to look for this week fantasy wise:

Giants:

Eli will be better , plain and simple

Gilbride will call more running plays , upping Bradshaws’s value in this game

Nicks is playing , and if he is playing I expect him to be close enough to full speed – Big Game

Manningham – much bigger game then last week – I Expect them to move it vs the Rams and use Play Action to set up Manningham.

Tuck – is in , but the Giants pass defense is still ravaged by injuries.

Sleeper : Hixon – He complained this week , and in life the Squeaky Wheel gets the grease.

Rams:

Sjax is out

Bradford will be better and the WRs will drop less balls

Caddy will not have as much running room this game as last week – but could be decent in the catch game

Kendricks to be involved much more – should up his stock this week

Gibson = the most average WR I’ve ever seen , average is good enough for 10 points in game that could be higher scoring

Mike Sims Walker – One of the most enigmatic WRs of all time , often times follows 0 pt games wtih 30 point games ,

I think he will surprise people tonight because he is PrimaDonnish enough to get his act together for the Nat Tv audience.

Sleeper: Salas – Filling in for Amendola at the slot , could get some decent work tonight if Tuck can help get a nice pass rush on Bradford.

Prediction: Giants 27 – Rams 24

The Holy Grail – Week 2 WRs

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgera...

Needs a Pro Bowl week to get back on track!

LEADING YOU TO THE PROMISED LAND THIS WEEK!

MUST STARTS

1 Andre Johnson vs Mia – After what he did last week and what Brady did to the MIA passing game last week , he belongs number 1 , especially with Mega nursing an ankle injury. Safe to say Miami’s passing defense was M. I. A. last week… keep reading , they get worse.

2 Calvin vs KC –  Great matchup , you are starting him , he is playing , he plays he most likely scores and always has a chance at an all time day.

3 Roddy White vs Phi – The matchup doesn’t scare me , he did not score last week , I think he scores this week and the Falcons will need to keep up with the Eagles , plus Ryan and the offense are always all systems go at home.

Larry Fitzgerald vs Wash – Nicks beat them pretty easily last week , Fitz should have no issues getting free and finding room , could be a sneaky high scoring game and he will give closer to what I expect out of him this year.

5 Greg Jennings vs Car – Another great matchup , Doucett burned them deep last week , Jennings is a lot better then Doucett , sometimes it is just that simple.

6 Mike Wallace vs Sea – Everyone scores in this game! Final score Pitt 84 Seahawks 2.

Miles Austin vs SF – Should do good here , Dez is banged up , Miles will be targetted heavily.

Vjax vs NE – Thanks for making me look like an idiot last week. Looking forward to what you have in store for me this week.

9  Marshall vs Hou – Great matchup , another potential shootout that could benefit Marshall’s volume work as he looked very good on MNF.

10 Djax vs ATL – Fast track , should be flying , next time don’t drop the long TD.

The Holy Grail- Week 2 RBs

Baltimore Ravens Training Camp August 20, 2009

Image via Wikipedia

LEADING YOU TO THE PROMISED LAND THIS WEEK!

MUST START

1 Ray Rice vs Tenn – Not spending much time on the must starts this week. We know what Ray Rice is , I had him as someone I believed would give his best year as a pro. Well he is off to a smashing start.

2 Peterson vs TB – He will exploit the Bucs who gave up 126 yards on the ground last week. Mcnabb is bad , but he will be better , you don’t sit AP anyway. Let’s move on.

3 Charles vs Det – It is AWAY on a fast track. The lions will score a ton , Charles is it for KC and he is about as explosive a runner you will find in the NFL. Det front 7 looked good but was barely on the field against TB, thats why they gave up so few rushing yards. Charles is a stud in any format.

4 Mcfadden vs Buf – Buf Gave up 6 yards per carry last week and DMC torched Denver for a huge yardage game. If he is healthy expect another monster game and an actual score this time. He falls behind Charles ONLY because of some minor injury news, could lead the week in scoring and if 100% healthy moved to #2.

5 Mccoy vs Atl – Torched STL last week, an obvious call but not a lot of people had him as high as I did. He comes down just a bit , but should factor in heavily , as Forte burned ATL last week through the air. Hopefully Vick doesn’t try to do too much against his former team and just sticks to the gameplan, that no doubt will feature Shady a ton.

6 Forte vs NO – After last week he has to become a must start. He is a PPR monster and should be considered a stud. He looked fast last Sunday.

7 Mendy vs Sea – He was quiet last week NOT because of the Ravens defense , but because the Steelers defense looked horrendous and couldn’t stop the Ravens offense. Roethlisberger had to throw it around to give them a chance , then the turnovers happened. Mendy will dominate this Seahawks game as the Steelers offense as a whole rebound and ground and pound while jumping on the TD merry go round! Yup.

MENDY FEARLESS FORECAST: 24carries 113yrds  2catches  8yrds    2Tds

The Holy Grail- Week 2 QBs

Matt Cassell throws a pass. Patriots v. Bills,...

Image via Wikipedia

LEADING YOU TO THE PROMISED LAND EACH WEEK!

Must Starts

1 Rodgers vs Car – Great matchup, He torched NO last week. Carolina gave up Yards , 2tds and 0 int’s to Kolb , Rodgers is better than Kolb.

Vick vs ATl – Claimed to play lights out , this was not the case. Djax dropped what would have been a 50 yard TD too. But he still is the most explosive QB in the game , running and passing with a chance at 40 plus points every week.

Brady vs SD – SD made Mcnabb look putrid. They will have NO CHANCE to slow Brady down like that. He is a monster , a beast , a goon , a goblin… He ain’t bad.

Rivers vs NE – Another elite QB with an elite matchup. If Henne can throw for 400 plus yards , Rivers can throw for 700. Expect 300 and 3tds as a lock.

Brees vs Chicago – They gave Ryan trouble last week. Brees is better than Ryan  , you are starting him anyway, let’s move on.

6 Romo vs SF – Looked really good at times vs the Jets. Dez might be banged up , but Austin , Felix and Witten there still make this guy a top end QB1. SF recorded 5 sacks last week , but I do not expect them to get this much pressure on Romo who will pick them apart in ways Tjax could only do if playing as Romo in Madden ’12.

7 Stafford vs KC – KC got torched by Fitzpatrick. They are going to get torched doubly by Stafford , PLUS Berry is out for the season , Stafford could be huge , and Could be a top 3 QB this week but settles in behind the sure things with longer track records.
